WSP is looking for a dynamic and energetic Human Resources Generalist to support an exciting new project group in our Louisville, KY location. This is an opportunity to work with both employees and project leadership people on various HR generalist functions. This role will act as an advisory and strategic support for both employees and leadership. Tasks may include establishing professional relationships and a positive rapport, working closely with our WSP center excellence teams (e.g. Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, Total Rewards, Benefits, and HRIS teams), employee relations, policies and procedures, performance management, talent development and delivering value-added HR support.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Communicate HR policies and procedures, provide guidance and advisement to managers and employees, assist HRBPs with organizational initiatives, and ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements.
·Participate in employee relations situations including analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting data obtained during investigations and offering input with developing action plans for resolution.
·Use discretion and professional judgment in assisting HRBPs with any matters of significance to the firm, such as FLSA determination, promotion, salary, and special payment decisions.
·Assist operations management with HR policy adherence, employee performance coaching, documentation, and other employment actions.
·Provide support and assistance regarding any legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring policy and labor law compliance.
·Assist with the development of project communication strategies that fosters effective project culture and workplace initiatives.
·Function as an HR process resource and a people advocate, but also a strategic partner for the business.
·Provide input on work team reorganizations, workforce planning efforts, and succession planning.
·Provide feedback and input as required to HR centers of excellence (e.g. Talent Acquisition, HR-HUB, L&D, Total Rewards, HRIS) on the delivery of HR programs, processes, policies, and initiatives.
·Remain current in the latest HR techniques, practices, California employment laws and legal requirements.
·Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
·Work alongside Talent Acquisition team and Operations on recruiting efforts for the project
·Organize and Facilitate on-site job fairs
